To get away from all the bickering about whom to hire and not to hire for our next head coach, how great has Lance Dunbar been this season? Tonight’s game was another notch in his belt for his great North Texas career, how can he not win Sun Belt Player of the year?

The kid can run the ball!! Truly amazing what he did tonight and this year.

He made a Big 12 defense look foolish tonight.Don't know his final lines, but know he had 4 tds and close to 300 yards rushing. Simply amazing. One of the greatest single game performances in UNT history.

Actually, he ended up having 270 yards. On the original final stat sheets, it said Dunbar had 266. But I just checked meangreensports.com, and those stats said he had 270 yards.

I tabbed my own stats and play by play for the game, and I had him at 271 with the same number of carries. I think they got it right.

All of that and he wasn't even 100%. Canales said in the post game press conference that Dunbar didn't practice until Wednesday because of nagging injuries.

Regardless of his final total, the kid can go. When he leaves here he will be the school's all time leading rusher. If we weren't playing from behind in the 2nd half, he would have had 300 yards easy today.
