Watching the game and they were commenting on Kent State's search for a new coach. Comments made how they (Kent State) had gone the way of the High School coach and how other choices had not worked out for them. Then the comment that I think is very similar to what we are going through. They commented the right hire was not necessarily the person who could get the players in, but rather someone who would have the energy the “sell the program externally” 365 days a year. The hire was critical because they need to get involvement, outside the University, in the program.

You are probably right, but it makes me wonder something: Why is it the head football coach's job to sell the world on UNT's athletics program? Shouldn't that be the AD's job?
