For those of you who haven't caught on, I am a huge Cowboys fan, always have an always will be. Emmitt's jersey is on my wall and the moment after he broke the record is on my desktop. Emmitt in another uniform will be strange, and not a fitting end to his career, but let's stop the criticism there. I know many are roasting him for going to a bad team and "only doing it for the yards". There is my problem.

Who are we to say that Emmitt Smith cannot play the game he loves for 4 million a year? Our only rationale is it hurts the perfect storybook ending in our minds. What if the perfect ending for Emmitt is playing until he wants to stop? Why would he want to stop playing football, the game he obviously loves and respects and lives for (and for a hefty salary) because instead of a star its a bird on his helmet?

So I guess what I am saying is yes, it will suck Emmitt is not a Cowboy and the perfect ending to Cowboy fans may not happen, but if Emmitt wants to play football then by all means let him do it without questioning or doubting. And now the unthinkable has happend: the Arizona freaking Cardinals are my second favorite team.
