I will be livid if we go for an FCS coach and don't offer J.C. Harper at SFA. Two losses this year.. 1 to A&M and another to Texas State (who barely pulled it off).

Before I read your post I was looking up J.C. Harper's record at SFA this year. Impressive. Wonder if the H at Penn or William & Mary are looking to move up?

We currently sit better in our own conference standings than they do in theirs. Their is nothing about that record that excites me about the future of North Texas. Also, please don't give me the "only lost by X amount of points" garbage. If that crap mattered we'd be working on Todd Dodge's contract extension.

Yep, and the teams ahead of them in the CAA are #s 4, 5, 11, 10, "26", and "28" in the latest FCS poll. JMU is "29th". Not too shabby.

Sagarin rates the CAA quite a bit more highly than the Sun Belt.

Sagarin rates the CAA quite a bit more highly than the Sun Belt.

And Sagarin himself has stated the FBS/FCS conference ratings are almost worthless because there isn't enough interplay to be statistically significant with the model he uses.

After App State beat UM the SoCon was the third rated conference in the country, that is what we call a statistical out lier.
