"We want to get back on the floor right away," Knight said. "But from a fan perspective, they don't know. That's a good team we played and a not a lot of teams - there's no Big 12 team that's going to go up there and play North Texas in their second game. I think we need some credit for having some balls for going up there and doing that.

"No one does that and I'm trying to get these guys ready for the Big 12 so it's not like - yeah we lost the game, but it's not a bad loss. That team won the Sun Belt last year, won 24 games, everybody coming back. It's a game as a coach you look on the schedule, it's a 50-50 chance you're going to win it and we got a lot of good out of it."

Thanks for posting , in the rivals inside interview Knight said he would like to continue the series with UNT. That would be a kickass yearly matchup to have... I'll be rooting for Tech even harder now hoping that Knight sticks around.

I liked Pat Knight....even before reading that...now even more. Talk about a tough gig....he could easily have the 6th best team in the Big XII South...and still have a great team.

After the game..I went down to The Green Room for a quick beer. Roaming around down there was Gerald Myers, their current AD (and a long-time b-ball coach for that school). I thanked him for giving us a Home and Home...and told him how much we loved playing Tech. He was very nice. He told me, "you guys have a great team."

I will admit that most of the Tech fans I saw were classy. I saw many of them clapping and showing appreciation for our success last year when we raised the banners. I would enjoy playing them yearly.
