The biggest concern entering this season was replacing the production of Eric Tramiel. What I'm going to try and do this season is keep a running thread of the production from the troika tasked with filling the big shoes of Trammy.

Now this should not be read in anyway assuming combined production surpasses individual production...however I don't believe anyone player on this roster has the capacity to individually replace Tramiel's production.

I'm thinking we should expect 20-25 points, 10-15 rebounds and 3-5 blocks per night.

Henderson State - 22 points, 14 rebounds (9 offensive), 3 assists, 5 blocks, 2 turnovers, 9 fouls in 47 combined minutes

Texas Tech - 19 points, 8 rebounds (1 offensive), 1 assist, 3 blocks, 3 turnovers, 6 fouls in 56 combine minutes

I was very concerned about Edwards based on his production at Nebraska and at the JUCO he played for before arriving at UNT.

LAST NIGHTS GAME AGAINST Ttech ERASED ALL MY Fears!!! At a critical moment in the game Edwards played lights out!!! Not many minutes during critical moment, but excellent production. Given time Edwards will become a force on the front line in my mind. :):D

Edwards was PUMPED last night. Several times he stood up and waved his arms trying to fire up the crowd.

I was real concerned about him after watching him play against Ark.-Monticello, but his limp was gone last night and he moved much better. IIRC Tramiel took about half a season to really get into the flow so maybe Alonzo is on a similar path.

Edwards, to me, still looks a bit uncomfortable, but this is the kind of thing that happens with a new team. There will be an adjustment period, but I think he'll be significant part of the rotation by conference play.

I also like the confident stroke he has from 15...gives us 4 posts I feel comfortable with shooting a mid-range (MID-RANGE, Jacob!!!) jumper...that will really help free up the block and the high-low option.

While Edwards is a nice addition, he likes to play 10-15 feet away from the basket. I don't look for him, or Holman, for that matter, to pick up the low post points we lost from Tram. Big George is going to have to pick up his low post game (which he did last night) and Hogans is going to have to find a post game, also.

I see Hogans as the key. If you can get 10 - 14 points in the paint from him consistently, then I think everything will work out just fine.

If George keeps passing like he has the last two games offensive production from the 4 position wont be a problem. My issue is when George leaves the game the 5 becomes a huge problem. Hopefully when Cam comes back he can be that guy.

i mean im no basketball guru but i thought #24 hogans played a good game. he used his body well in the paint and i think his defense down low really helped up keep it close towards the end of the game...

...that said, i belive it was him tho that got the offensive rebound after a 3, only to jack up a 3 pointer when we coulda ran the clock down to 1 minute with the lead in the 2nd half. Not sure if it was Hogans but maybe someone can help me out on who that was.

Kansas - 13 points, 7 rebounds (2 offensive), 1 assist, 1 block, 0 turnovers, 6 fouls in 41 combined minutes

Rice - 14 points, 6 rebounds (3 offensive), 0 assists, 4 blocks, 1 turnovers, 5 fouls in 46 combined minutes

Season Average: 17.0ppg, 8.75rpg (3.75orpg), 1.25apg, 3.25bpg, 1.5topg, 6.5pfpg, 47.5 combined mpg

Per 40 minutes: 14.3ppg, 7.4rpg (3.2orpg), 2.7bpg

These numbers are pretty disappointing to this point...especially considering nearly all of the productive numbers the past 2 games have come from Hogans. If you were in the chat last night, you know my thoughts on Holmen. Edwards just does not look comfortable...whether it be his knee or the adjustment period with his new team. I like that he competes hard and doesn't mind contact, but I think he's got to find a way to be productive for 15 minutes a night.

Edwards is really starting to worry me. He doesn't look right out there physically. Very cumbersome moving up and down the floor.
