I say 5,000, still early in the season, half the student body probably hasn't realized that basketball has even started.

Ticket said this morning this was the 5th largest turnout in school history and the largest in 30 years.

They probably just guessed, but I think that 7,100 is pretty close to how many people were there + season ticket holders that could not make it.

I know that years ago, one of the staff members would scan the arena and make an educated guess and then report that as the attendance figure.
