What school at our level or maybe just a tad below who is presently a working Head Football Coach and one that has the reputation of being a bonafide recruiting guru (and maybe even among Texas HS's) would bear our search group looking at?

Thus far...it seems we've only discussed mostly former known HFC's who have not coached for awhile.

On this list might be presently working head football coaches who we have to recruit against now yet if that said coach were suddenly recruiting for UNT...who might that coach be?

What about looking at a WAC Head Football Coach or 2 UNT could shop and with a new stadium said coach might very well be interested?

Jim, I can't think of a single presently working head football coach that would look at UNT as a promotion other than one at an FCS or below university.

The WAC currently has three very good to excellent coaches but all three are moving to the MWC in the next couple of years. The only "up and coming" possibility is Gary Anderson at Utah State and I'd take Chico over him in a heartbeat.

I've always believed that someone who is a good coach with a great gameplan/system will be able to recruit his type of players. And if he directly doesn't do it then that is where his staff comes in. If Canales is the guy and he produces which so far he has in a very short sample...then kids and parents will take notice and that will be half the battle as far as what you have to sell to these kids.
