Ok, so let's move forward to a world where the decision is made and it's time to support our new leader. We've talked about all sorts of options around him, but what about Graduate Assistants? Any thoughts on what GAs we should be focusing in on to take our program to the next level?

All I know is that we need to stay away from the retread GA's. I mean, if you don't have that fire in your belly, you shouldn't be a GA here that's for sure!

We need a name GA to excite the fanbase and sell tickets. No experimental GAs.

I can't believe we've left out the most important question of all. Who's going to man the Syracuse Sausage kiosk in the new stadium? For the love of all things holy, man! We need answers!

You were just a gleam in your daddy's eye the last time we had a successful GA. Hells Bells, how many horrible GA's have we trotted out there in the last few decades because the Sun Belt was our barometer???! More importantly, you young gun alums don't have a clue what a true diet coke boy is like! Important, rich, powerful...though conveniently nameless...people have talked to me, and again conveniently me only, and told me that our next GA will be a GA to rival all GA's. A GA for the ages!!! Oh yeah, and vote Republican.

Why not hire the greatest GA of all time: the great G.A. Moore, winningest high school coach of all time. He's just up the road in Aubrey.

Why would he come here and take the meager salary we have to offer a GA? Just so he can use us as a stepping stone to being a position coach at a big school from an AQ program? He seems like a good, spiritually centered man, but could he relate to the socio-economic, ethno-religious diversity and environmental sensitivity of the college age youth coming here from the distressed inner city and privileged suburban programs where we must recruit for our program to thrive?

The biggest question we should all be concerned with....

When is Denton going to open up a REAL sushi buffet (similar to Tokyo 1)???

It'll either be inside the indie movie theater or part of the concessions at the new baseball stadium. :D

Exactly! Furthermore, I don't care what kind of success the GA had in high school, no more experiments, no more high school GA's!!!

Syracuse Sausage? Really? Syracuse?

Let's bring in some good Texas versions like Chappell Hill or Burton. For all that is clean and good, Syracuse is in freakin' New York!

      MGN: Post game recap

      Really they didn’t even try. The stats back this up. Our RBs had 12 carries for 53 yards. That’s a respectable 4.4 yards per carry. Not amazing but solid enough to take a little pressure off the passing game. By comparison, TxSt averaged 4.6 but they ended up with over 200 yards because they stuck with the run. The running game didn’t struggle. Morris gave up on it before it could struggle because he doesn’t value the run game. Or he was so intimidated by a SunBelt team that he panicked?

      We picked the wrong quarterback

      The problem wasn’t the QB but rather the game plan. Or more specifically the head coach. I still don’t understand why you build your game plan around a rookie walk-on qb. They barely even tried to run the ball. The stat sheet shows 25 rushing attempts but around 6-7 of those were passing plays when the qb scrambled due to the breakdown of the pass blocking or that abortion of a WR pass with Young. Our RBs had 12 carries. Twelve. Stupid.

      MGN: Post game recap

      Run game definitely struggled. Observation from a lowly fan was the center's snaps were not crisp. There was the bad snap that hit the turf that Mestemaker recovered but there were several others that weren't on target that visibly caused timing to be off. Couple that with the DL regularly being in our backfield right after the snap and it's hard to run. I may be mixing games but I think even remember a TX State player practically meeting our RB at a hand-off. Mestemaker pulled it back and got taken down by a few defenders but there was just no room to get things going on the ground.

      Untjim: Texas/Oklahoma doesn't produce great linemen anymore so we can't have great defenses. Me: how does UTSA and Texas State do it? Rick: defense Untjim: he doesn't want to hear it Hear what? Y'all are simultaneously saying the state doesn't produce great linemen which is necessary for a good defense but then say other G5 teams in our same state with our same pool of players are succeeding because of defense. Again, if they can do it why can't we? What's their excuse?
