Hardly a breakout year in the SBC's 10 anniversary year.

PS: What is the highest ranked SBC football team in that 10 year history? I don't think we've ever had a team in the Top 25 now have we?

Middle Tennessee looks horrible. I really think we have a shot at winning this one.

The QB for the MUTS, Dasher, can't throw at all. If our Defense can put some pressure on him, he'll throw some INT's.

Dasher at QB for MUTS and Coach Chico now Head Coaching........ Advantage Mean Green!! :)

We'll see. I'd hate to get too cocky because Dasher has been off since he came back from his suspension. Once he finds his rhythm, he can wreak havoc on most 1-A defenses.

Robert Smith as the analyst makes the game so much more dull and boring than it is. You can tell he is so bored and inside it seems like he's saying what type of terrible football am I watching? Anyways ASU dominated that thing.

If we go by the website posted by MeanGreen19, then Middle Tennessee was 23rd last year with a 10-3 record...

Not AP or Coaches, but it uses a similar metric to RPI or something...

However, I have some concerns about the veracity of that website...

MUTS would have beaten us by 35 last year if Dasher could have hit an open receiver with more than 1 of 10 throws. He got legs and nuthin else.

Don't need any thugs playing for the Mean Green. We need guys like Riley, AK, Royce, Lance, great athletes who are intelligent and class acts.

Good call McKinney... Didnt look at the last few years and I'm not sure how accurate that site is but its something right?????

Also didnt we get a few "other votes" in the coaches and ap polls in 2003?

Cant remember i've sleeped since then....

      Mike Mitchell Jr. was out. He's a starter and Minnesota could've really used his shooting. Not as familiar with the other players but they're reserves. This game was a big data point for the Massie over Newell position!

      Awesome win! The only bad part was the commentary from the TV announcers. They confused Newell and Lorient for an extended period of time, stated that Atin Wright originally played at Washington State, and clearly barely knew anything about our program. The play by play announcer gave major 'and boom goes the dynamite' vibes. Some thoughts on the game: - The defense was stellar as we've all come to expect. Delo and Massie were great playing multiple matchups. - Minnesota came out and blitzed our PnRs. We really struggled with the pressure. Eventually we started slipping screens and setting brush screens to counteract it. - Trey Edmonds in the second half forced us to play big. He has a grown man body. Hodge settled on a Lorient/Sissoko combination to match Garcia/Edmonds. - An extended run with a Floyd/Walker/Massie/Lorient/Sissoko lineup including to close the game aside from situational subs. Before the season I would've been shocked that this lineup would close a win on the road against a Big Ten school because of the offense. The spacing was predictably an adventure. Massie wasn't efficient but he kind of made the lineup 'work'. He shows handling, passing, and court awareness in the half court. Feels like he could turn into a secondary ball handler in lineups. - Atin Wright had a meh game by his standards, but still really excited about him this season. He's a bit of a showman and I love it. After getting fouled in transition, he slapped the ball away from the defender and stared at him. On Lorient's massive jam at the end of the game, you can see him standing over Edmonds (who was on the ground). GMG

      Most uneducated post I read was someone saying we could end up being a quad 3 blemish on the gophers tourney resume. 🤦‍♂️ gotta keep winning games like this. Only way to get past the stigma.
