I didn't know this.....but Cam Newton, Jr., the great QB at Auburn.....played for Brad Franchione last season. According to an article on Newton in the lastest SI.....Newton began his career at Florida. After getting into minor trouble there...he transferred to Blinn JC. (quite a ways from his Georgia home).

The SI article credits Franchione will helping turn the kid around....and having a lot to do with Newton's maturation.

Apparently Franchione and his wife both did a lot to help Newton mature as a person and a player.

Newton is considered by many to be the Heisman front runner, right now. According to this article, if he wins it....he'll be the first juco player to ever win The Heisman.

Just thought I'd post this...since Little Fran and his Dad have both been mentioned as possible candidates at NT.

BTW.....I think SI is wrong on one thing. I'm pretty sure that O J Simpson went to a juco before going to USC.

Yes. City College of SF, 1967 and 1968.
