give it a rest on the dodge bashing. riley is a tough kid and keeps coming back to try and help the team. he is a better unt fan than some of the posters lately.

The player in question in this thread is Blake Dunham, son of George Dunham.

this was about riley.

Lonnie's question was referring to Blake Dunham. Riley was not part of the conversation on the radio nor the this particular thread.

It wasn't about Riley, it was about Jub's kid. Jub is not going to be the most objective source on Todd Dodge these days. Not that it matters now.

I remember Jub ranting during the 2008 season about how Dodge would turn it all around and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Darrell Dickey was the probem, yada, yada, yada. No one understood. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just a bunch of crap.

It's not that I don't like Jub. I listen to him every morning on the way to work. But, when the subject ever involved Todd Dodge, he lost his wits trying to defend the guy's on the field product.

He has to walk a fine line - he's paid by the school to be the radio announcer, but if he defends NT too much the other guys on the Ticket will dogpile him. Especially his sorry ass OU bandwagonning partner, Junior.

I seem to remember George being upset about the Dickey firing as well.

Dunham's a great announcer, but one of his flaws is that he's extremely reluctant to criticize the current coach.

If he really took shots at the UNT fanbase, he needs to stop bogarting the bong. He knows better than anybody that Dodge's tenure was a disaster on the field.

It was the same way with DD. They had pool parties together for pete's sake. Jub do what he do. He befriends coaches.

I can accept pool parties. But I thought Georgio took it too far when he rubbed pumice on DD's corns in the locker room after practice.

      It's a real question to ponder, but what is it gonna take? I've been told that it would take us being a winner. Then, it was we need to make a postseason tournament. No, we need to have wins in the NCAA Tournament or NIT. We have done all of this. The only times I ever see anyone in Denton show up big time for a game in the Super Pit is for games against power teams from the region (Tech, SMU, OSU, etc...) Otherwise, nobody goes. So they basically go to watch the other team play, whether to see the other team win or get beat. Who is making it so cool for the students and the local citizenry to be apathetic or hate our sports teams STILL in 2025?? I mean, I get that when we were in the SLC, Big West, the SBC, or even CUSA 3.0, people could look down on the situation we were in. But the American is the BEST conference situation we have ever been in for the current NCAA Basketball environment--brand names that have made big runs in the tournament over the years like Memphis, Wichita State, Temple, Tulsa, Charlotte, UAB, and even, now, Florida Atlantic with their recent Final Four run. And we have in-state games still with Rice and UTSA. And all of that equals being THRILLED to have over 4000 in attendance... I'll never understand. And it will not make a lick of sense to me when we see about 500 people in FW for the AAC conference tournament, either. All it does is reinforce to the local media that we are some commuter school that even our alumni and students don't care about. And maybe, in the end, that's the reality that will never change, either.

      there were a few games where students had a hard time getting their tickets, kept my daughter in the dorms a few times because the ticket system was not working for the students.

      Thinking about the Super Pit....

      I think for individual seats the season ticket donation is right around a hundred dollars and the loge seating might start around $1000 per seat. For comparison sake courtside/floor seats are several hundred dollars per seat. I want to say it was like $400 for men and $175 for women? I don't remember from the last time I renewed my seat. I can't speak for the loge seats but there is a waiting list for floor seats and I expect the minimum donations to increase over time.
