Who?

I really have respect for Riley; those statements show a maturity level I never had at that age.

He is a winner regardless of the adversity we have had the last few years.

I like how I can tell my kids about Riley because he is a true ROLE MODEL!!!!!

They can learn from him, hell I can learn from this young man – how tough it must have been but he keeps his commitment.

He is just one of those guys you want to succeed

What the hell, man?

Personally, I'm of the belief Riley's year last season was the best QB play we've had since Scott Hall graduated...and as a freshman so it was destined to improve...but I get the argument on his size, turnovers, etc...

What I don't get is any ire towards him and anybody that would do anything but celebrate this story as a huge win for the program. The kid has played through so much and has showed nothing but the utmost dedication to his team, teammates and school. He probably won't be able to swing a golf club by age 30, but he's willing to further damage his arm when needed to step in and play QB. Whether he's lived up to his billing or not, he's an effing warrior.

HURRAH!!

So here's a strange scenario. I know most of the parents of players who are able to attend games do so and support their kids to the fullest. Would TD come to the games to see RD play and, if so, what do you think the reception would be like? Let's be clear, I have no problem whatsoever with him in the stands but I am not sure how surreal that scene would be.

I'd walk up to him, shake his hand, and thank him for his services and effort.

"I love it here, I want to play football here," Riley Dodge said. "Everyone thinks that because my dad is gone that I'm going to tuck my tail between my ass and run away. I'm dedicated to this university and to my teammates."

I love this quote. I really did not have a strong opinion one way or another on him before this year but after watching him play this year with passion and heart, I have major respect for the guy and give him props from playing his ass off. Sometimes you can't teach that fire a person has to win and play and I think despite his lack of measurables so to speak he goes out there and gives it everything he's got and is still able to produce despite all of the injuries and wheels offness we have had this year.

I expect we'll see Todd Dodge at the remaining games this season, home and away, based on his interview with TMGR. I look forward to having a chance to shake his hand and say "thank you"!

...and I LOVE the quote by Riley. He intends to finish what he started. It reminds me of seeing him puke on the field and then throwing a TD pass in the State Championship game before he came to UNT. He doesn't quit. He won't quit.

I love it that the NT Daily got a scoop on Vito - scoop on Riley's future, and quotes from Todd Dodge.

Thanks, we try our best to get the information out there for people.

Riley is an absolute warrior and a hell of an athlete. He has played with pure heart and is one of the toughest guys I have ever watched play the game. Him and his dad are two of the classiest guys that you will ever meet, and I expect great things from both of them in the future.

From the AP story (picked up by the Washington Examiner):

North Texas fires coach Todd Dodge after woeful start in his 4th season By: SCHUYLER DIXON

While he waits for his next career move, Dodge will be a fan at North Texas games, watching his son Riley Dodge, a quarterback who also played for him at Carroll. North Texas next plays Oct. 30 at Western Kentucky, and the elder Dodge plans to make the trip."I told (the players) there won't be a bigger fan of theirs over the next five weeks," Dodge said.
