I seriously doubt he'd be interested. He's his own boss now, making a comfortable income I'm sure. If he expressed interest, he would certainly warrant consideration, but until then let the man enjoy his retirement years.

Just because someone was a great player doesn't necessarily mean they will be a good coach, ie Wayne Gretzky. I've actually noticed that the most successful coaches who are former players are the ones who made a 10+ year playing career out of being a role player or doing a bunch of little things. They usually know how to explain the game and how to teach younger players. Of course, there are always exceptions.

That being said, if he does express interest, you have to consider him.

You really think RV is going to go for another "out there" type candidate? I highly doubt that RV is going to hire someone else with limited college experience. Joe was a great football player and also great supporter of NT, less leave it at that. I can't imagine Greene being interested in starting a college coaching career at 60+.
