Obama cares about Obama and turning this nation left

So then I guess you will agree that Bush cares about Bush and turning this nation right? It goes both ways.

Oh but that's ok because that is where you lean anyways so Bush doesn't care only about himself.

Is Bush still President? I must have missed that somewhere...just like Obama...when all else fails...Blame Bush. The guy hasn't been President for some time...just in case you have missed that. In fact, Bush has been the complete gentleman since leaving office in respecting the office enough not to even talk about what a sorry job Obama is doing.

By the way., I don't "lean right". There is no leaning to it as I stay definitely to the right of center on most issues when it comes to the economy and defense. Social issues, well that's another matter altogether.

After his administration, the wisest thing Bush can do is stay quiet. To be honest I don't hate Bush. I do think he made some very big blunders during his presidency which is why he gets the wrath he gets. However I have a problem with Obama lovers blaming Bush and all republicans for everything and Bush lovers blaming Obama and all democrats for everything. Truth is both sides have royally effed up at some point....which ultimately is why the world is in the position it is in.

Both sides are a bunch of morons and there is not ONE right way to run a country IMO.

As for you not leaning right...I will actually agree with you. I think for the most part you are fair when it comes to both sides and forming your opinion. So yes I shouldn't have said you are a hardcore right wing guy. My bad.

I truly believe he is an apologist and wants to be liked by the rest of the world so much that he will "short" his own country to look good in the eyes of the rest of the world. The guy is OUR President, not the President of the world. He has tried that "let's all just sit down and talk thing" and it didn't go too well. I have seen his speech and have watched the talking heads on ABC, NBC and CBS, CNN and MSNBC ignore the American efforts entirely. In fact, truth be known, I have not even watched FOX news for the last week. Hard to believe for me, but true.

On another note...I give to many other charities and organizations as well as UNT...how about you Doc? In fact, my wife and I gave much more than what has been reported that many of our politicians personally gave and we make considerably less than they do...by a long shot.

I spent last weekend at a wedding in Eureka Springs, Ark. That "rural" enough for you? All I could think of half the time was the movie "Deliverance" and the music to "Dueling Banjos" as I witnessed car after car with Obama stickers on them.

Obama cares about Obama and turning this nation left...he is the by far poorest president in my lifetime (and that goes back to Truman)...I hate to say it, but even worse than Jimmy Carter! No amount of fly fishing in Broken Bow, OK will change that...and, yes, I believe President Obama is doing his best to apologize to everyone he can around the world while he does his best to turn this great nation of ours into a second-class "citizen".

Interesting how people say the US is not well liked...may be, but what nation is the first called when tragedy strikes around the world? This nations gives more money, more human volunteer hours and more aid of all types to people around the world than any other nation. Apologize for that if you will.

I am very hopeful that I will feel much better on November 3rd.

Now, Dr. EagleGreen as you were so kind and thoughtful as to tell me what I should do.....

You got a little puckered up in Arkansas did you? That place will do it to you. I should clarify: I think President Obama cares about the country. He seems to be trying his best. Now, he may be turning the country left, that's his party. That doesn't mean he doesn't care about the country and it doesn't mean he's not trying his hardest to make the U.S.A. a better place. I think he cares. It just means that 50% of the country don't like his ideas for improvement; that's how American politicts go these days.

I give to charities all the time. I'm an avid outdoorsman and find peace in fly-fishing and removing myself from the stressors of life (including the constant barrage of news). I also find it useful to donate my time to people in need to realize that my situation is really good and I don't need to be bitching about paying for green technology, environmental justice, higher taxes (with representation, of course), traffic, harsh words on a message board, etc. Some people have it bad man. It is my understanding that we only live once and if we are living OK and can make others have a better life then I think that's what we should do (just my opinion and I don't expect it from anyone else). I enjoy giving; time and money.

As far as my politics: my wife is fairly right and I'm slightly right of center (I lean right). I just think we ought to respect the President a little more and give him props for trying his best to lead us during these difficult times. Bush didn't and Obama doesn't have the pleasure of leading us during the good ole days like Reagan and Clinton. They have had tough jobs, and people are constantly nipping at their heels.

As far as telling this ole doc where to go...I'll do it for ya....I'm headed to a bonfire! :) Have a good day.

I really, trully, don't get the amount of anger toward Obama.

TARP is paid back, except for the 50B that AIG owes, which they are set to pay back any minute. The US may even make profit on the TARP.

The GDP has risen every quarter since Obama inacted the second funding for jobs. It started out at -2% and now is 6%.

The recession is over(economically defined -- not anecdotally defined).

We are pulling out of Iraq and making a play to actually win the war in Afganistan.

The Patriot Act is still intact -- which the right should love.

They passed some Wall Street regulations to make them keep more cash in hand, so they don't need the Govt. bailing them out.

So, does it really boil down to Health Insurance Regulations that were passed?

Seems like the left should be more pissed at him than the right.

We're years away from unemployment returning to pre-meltdown levels. So lets keep reforming everything (except the government itself) and see if that gives businesses the confidence to start hiring people again.

Nice post. About the only thing I would disagree with is Reagan being blessed with "good old days". Things were terrible when Reagan took office, much worse than they are now, and his policies turned that around. His biggest failure was capitulating to congress on many spending issues, thus starting the huge debt problem that now faces this country.

President Obama is doing what he thinks is right for this country. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your thought process), a growing majority of Americans don't share his vision for our future. Count me as one of those.

It is funny what politicians will say to get elected. Pres. Obama promised to get out of Iraq immediately, close Gitmo, and end wire tapping without a warrant. We left Iraq when the military said we were ready, Gitmo is still open, and Pres. Obama recently has attempted to expand wire tapping without a warrant. It just goes to show you that people (either party) will say anything to get elected, and then govern very differently.

This goes for both parties. I will be watching with interest to see if any of the tea party candidates elected to congress will follow through on the agenda to cut federal spending. Not slow down the increase in federal spending, but cut it. My guess is that they become much more concerned with re-election than they are with actually trimming the government fat.

The "government" didn't cause the financial meltdown. The didn't cause the tech bubble, the house bubble, outsourcing, etc.

I don't understand your point. Besides just being angry at everything.
