Mean Joe looks like he might have a season or 2 left in him? :)

And just 12 injuries for the Miners?

GMG!

Why was he at the UTEP practice? Is there a connection between Joe and Mike Price?

Not to my knowledge, but Mike Price has TONS of contacts in football...

I have been amazed the last 7 years with how many people he has either gotten to be assistants or speak with the players...

Price is another coach that is on the hot seat... His last 4 years have been major disappointments after his first 2 seasons yielding bowl teams...

He is incredibly popular in El Paso and is a very good ambassador for the school and program...

And yet the fans are getting restless...

They are 4-1 this season with all the wins coming against horrible teams (Arkansas Pine-Bluff, New Mexico St, Memphis and New Mexico)...

With a home game against Rice this weekend he has a chance to be 5-1 and in a great position for a bowl bid...

I like Mike Price a lot, and I hope he does it... If not, I fear there will be a change...

As far as I can tell, Joe Greene is paid to give speeches, so perhaps he was out making (gasp) money for speaking at UTEP. I just hope that, if and when the time comes, that he will be among those chosen to be part of a search committee for a new UNT head football coach; if doing so requires compensating said committee members, I would be in favor of it, rather than bringing in some consulting firm with no ties to North Texas, and with a history of mixed results.

What gives you the impression Greene knows anything at all about evaluating coach prospects?

Good question, and one I've asked myself about others. Honestly, I'm just looking for things to feel good about related to North Texas football, and Joe Greene fills the bill for me right now.

More than half of this board thinks it is qualified to evaluate future coaching prospects, and Greene has much more experience than any of us.
