Don't think so. TCU dropped a spot because they played weak against an unranked SMOO, not because of the conference they are in. Both Boise and TCU are closer to a national championship than the Big East Champ without being in an autobid conference. The only advantage the BE champ has is an automatic bid to a BCS game. The Big East champ hasn't played for the national championship in recent memory.

A BCS game is the goal and an automatic bid is much better than a Non AQ team having to go undefeated to have any chance at one. The Big East champ can even lose a game or two but still gets the big $$ of a BCS Bowl. An easy decision for TCU if they get an invite.

Don't be so sure it wasn't conference related. TCU was on the road against a rival and dropped. Nebraska was at home against a D-1AA and struggled, but yet moved up in the polls.

Didn't Nebraska move up because Texas got beat and dropped out of the Top 5?

Undefeated in the Big East may not get them in the National Title game, but it does guarantee a BCS bowl.

If the Big East extends an invite, TCU will accept it. The MWC would invite SMU or maybe UNT, because they won't want to lose the 5th largest media market in the country. If they take SMU, we will go to C-USA. They won't want to lose the DFW market either.

Good luck TCU. I hope the Big East adds you.

If SMU receives an invitation to the MWC and accepts then you will know that TCU is leaving for another conference.

I think the MWC would try for Houston before Smut, even UTEP before Smut.
