Just look around at all the scandal in college basketball: the Bonnies quit, TT is passing out confidential information, Villanova's phone scandal, trouble at Fresno State, all hell has broken loose at Georgia.

And while this years men's team stunk for the most part, I am proud that we don't have to worry about any of this. We had a second all-time leading scorer finish his career not under allegations or rumors or for another university, but on the all academic team. I trust Coach Jones to run things the right way and not cheat or bend the rules and I also trust that he will be succesful at it. That makes me proud of our basketball program- no matter how much of a letdown this season was- and hopeful looking into the future.

A couple of years back I would have laughed at this post and said "where do you get that confidence? What in HISTORY would make you believe UNT Basketball is going to EVERY improve"...

...but then I've watched our Football team turn into something that we never thought was possible. I am now a true believer that ANYTHING is possible at UNT... The University has the right leadership, the right vision, and is moving the only way it knows how now, and that's up.

...so here's to a 10-2 football season, and a trip to the NIT next year!

My post was more about being proud of having a clean program than how many wins we have. I'm glad that we don't pick up the paper and read about all the corruption within the program like so many schools are doing.

I do think JJ will get things going in the right path as far as wins are concerned as well, but that wasn't the emphasis of the post.
