DeLeon McCord led the team with tackles (6)

6 UNT defenders were tied for second with 5 tackles each. I don't think I've ever seen that much of a team effort on the stat sheet.

TRUE freshman Zach Orr had 5 (he's a keeper)

James Hamilton led the team in rushing with 122 yards on just 11 carries

soph Darius Carey led the team in receiving with 2 receptions for 69 yards and two TD's.

Will Atterbury had a good night with a kicking average of 62.2 yards and punting average of 52

Shavod Atkinson and Kelvin Jackson both had monster games with 5 tackles a piece and are starting to come into their own. We may have ourselves the best tackle duo in the Belt.

FINAL point - Riley Dodge had 75 rushing yards on 11 carries. When Riley is running the ball well this offense is productive and we can win games.

At last.... a game in which we can highlight what they did right and not what they did wrong. I must admit I did not think the team had it in them, but they have proven me wrong. They stepped up to the plate and took the game.

The way the clock was running and the rushing yards piling up, I kept thinking we might actually get a win using Dickey Ball. Nice to see the coaching staff realized their limitations and adjusted the whole game plan to accomodate. A couple of years ago that wouldn't have happened.

Also, note a few passing stats. 9.7 yards per attempt, 14.6 yards per completion. Also two passing TDs. We only threw the ball 15 times, but we got a lot of bang for the buck when we did.

Most interesting stat for me: 2 false start penalties on the last 2 drives almost cost us the game. However, those were 2 of 3 penalties. 3 penalties total really shows some good discipline, Now, space them out next time so you don't give us all heart attacks.
