I'd like a green helmet like it for us, white UNT bridged like the UAB. But, without the mascot under it, like UAB's dragon.

Just a green helmet, flecked, with white UNT on the side, possibly trimmed in black.

Now you're doing bits.

Agreed. Wish A&M and OU had gone to the SEC. Both are too afraid of real competition, though.

Who can blame them? Things went downhill fast for The Vols after the Tennessee-Martin game. Speaking of Tennessee, I wonder how bad Vols fans are missing Phil Fulmer.

May as well start the helmet talk early. I don't think our game will be much to talk about.

What's your view on conference realignment? Could we compete in a league whose schools have helmets as sharp as UAB's?

Only if we have helmet stickers.

Two things to discuss. One, the university's athletic department has been very vocal about branding the name North Texas, not UNT. So, UNT on helmets would be counterproductive. They want us to be referred to as North Texas, not UNT. Get fifteen miles outside of Denton and who the hell knows what UNT stands for? Secondly, I got a glimpse of the SMU helmet stickers...they looked like spider webs...what were they?

Our athletic department has lost its mind. UNT is unique. North Texas makes us sound like a directional, commuter school.

Additionally, we have a unique second nickname in Mean Green. The helmets should have UNT on the side, or and interlocking NT. And, the front of the jerseys should read Mean Green.

Either way, this high school uniforms have to go, along with the high school coach. We need to be more serious about the image we project, beginning with Season One at the new stadium.
