Denton has a pro football team

Some of you already knew about the Dallas Stampede professional women's football team that was to play it's home schedule at Fouts this year. Well the Dallas Stampede is now known as the Denton Stampede, because they are members of the NWFA , which has 30 teams and already has a Dallas team (the Dragons).

Games will still be at Fouts this summer, and the intra-squad scrimmage is Saturday at 3 @ Fouts, free admission. I am helping coach this team, and there are many current and former NT students both playing and coaching on this team, so come check them out...and it's the only football you will see at Fouts for a while after Thursday night.

It was 106 at the Baylor game two years ago at the end of August. I can imagine what the temp will be at some of these games. It's gonna look like a giant Zima commercial or Sierra Mist commercial before they are through.

I feel sorry for them, playing for 3 hours in the hottest part of the summer. At least the guys only START in the summer...their whole season isn't in the meat of it.

The last few practices have been perfect weather, but by the time the schedule rolls around, it will be warm .
