I'm sure Baine can fumble and run into walls just as well as Riley. I don't like the "career as a qb is over, he is a wr now doublespeak". Riley can't throw, this has been said by the coach and the player so why the heck would we put him back at QB? Baine should be in taking his lumps and getting better or they should move him to another position.

He is a walk-on. Yes, you sometimes find a Casey Fitzgerald or Chris Hurd among your walk-ons. But you do not build a team around walk-ons--they are there for emergency situations. And he is just one more injury away from seeing the field at QB, which this season looks more than possible.

Nathan Tune was a walk-on.

He's been on scholarship for the past 3-4 years now.

And he did not start at QB when he was a sophomore, either.

When he was a sophomore neither Daniel Meager, Matt Phillips, nor Giovanni Vizza were injured for substantial time.

You build your team around the best players regardless of whether you recruited them or they walked on. I don't care if Baine is a walk on or not. He's been the backup for several years and he's a scholarship athlete. If he can't play then why does he have a scholarship?

No offense whatsoever to Chase, but I have not seen or heard anything to indicate that Chase Baine is one of our best players.

Is Chase Baine so terrible that we have to convert 2 wide receivers back to qb?

Lets focus on the game our team is still playing. This topic can be debated later.

My guess at this point is:

Riley

Teagarden

...Baine?

Also have John Dodson, freshman walk-on from Bishop Lynch on the roster.

I know that after last year, Dodge doesn't want to travel without 4 QBs, so I hope Mr. Dodson has a suitcase packed for Boca Raton.
