Mean Green Invitational starts today. Athletics Story

Should be interesting to see how the ladies do with NCAA Teams NW State and SMU coming up to play and also the addition of always tough TJC, SFA has a very good new coach, Sam Houston has 7 players who are So or younger including 4 Freshmen and UTSA always has good players.

Also interesting to see Barbosa is at school as she was not on the roster. Should be a good sign to see how the ladies stack up for the upcoming year.

For anyone who has never been to a tennis match at UNT, has never had any interest, etc, you need to go watch these ladies play. Coach Lama has assembled an ever strengthening roster that just keeps getting better. Watch them sometime when they've been playing quite literally all day long and you will be amazed at the endurance of these athletes. Absolutely amazing. If you are coming out for the Fry St watch party Saturday, why not swing by the tennis facility after the Army game (you likely will have to park at the Mean Green Village since not much is available at the tennis courts)? You will have a good time and you'll give these athletes an additional boost on their climb up the national rankings. Good luck ladies! Go Mean Green!

Barbosa will be a solid grinder near the bottom of the line-up - a "tough out" - but not until spring. Still battling transition from clay, and some physical transition issues. Kazarova was removed from the team due to consistent team rules violations. Lee has been a great addition, and will produce both in singles and doubles.
May have an eighth in January, but regardless, the team is improved from last year's squad.

Thanks for the updates. Was not sure what to think of the loss for Barboza, Any idea what happened to Madura? Is she injured she did not play her first singles, also I assume the TJC Girl is pretty stout to take out Dinuta in straights.

The ladies should be in good shape to make a run at a repeat but Denver got a couple of 4* recruits, FIU has not changed much. Would not worry about either AR school, ULL could be sleeper, USA is still trying to recover. Will be interested in the finals today and yes Lee seems ready to step up into the top 3 or so.
