Also another article of his

Coach Dodge has to make Tough Calls

Interesting thought.

A bit of an aside. Dodge has probably lost 4-5 games in his tenure at UNT over poor special teams play. It isn't much of a stretch to say if Dodge had the foresight to retain special teams ace coach Eric Russell when he walked in the door, UNT probably would have had extremely good special teams play rather than extremely bad special teams play the last few years. Where bad special teams play has cost UNT 4-5 games over the Dodge era, it seems logical the opposite could have allowed UNT to steal 4-5 games they had no business stealing. Hugely speculative, but how different would Dodge be perceived if his record was 15-23 today instead of 5-33?

Did he actually refer to the Academies as FCS schools?

While I rarely ever glance at The Bleacher Report, when I saw your question I had to look. Yes, he did. Whom ever this guy is doesn't seem to have much knowledge of college football if he is that completely uninformed.

Not sure why so many are quick to beat up on Tobi. He is just a fan who writes about the team...and can bring some interesting points to the table. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he knows the Academies are FBS.

A lot of good thoughts, and I agree with most of them. Particularly the adjustments of getting some more beef on the outside to contend with the power of Army's option, and getting DeLoach in there working on special teams. I'd be careful about what starters I utilized on special teams at this point though.

Tired of this guy stealing my ideas

Give me a break. His previous sentence made clear that he understood Army and the service academies are FBS.

Tobi is not a professional journalist, but his articles are usually every bit as factual and far more insightful than most of the other UNT articles we get tossed our way. He is an avid UNT fan, and even when I disagree with him, he gives me something to think about.

OK, while my reading of the previous sentence does not imply he actually understands the service academies are FBS teams, I will say this article does make some points. I still put the Bleacher Report roughly equal to the Weekly World News in trusted sources of information. I have never seen the Bleacher Report report aliens had taken over the bodies of coaches, but that might explain some of Coach C's play calling on Saturday!

I bounced this off of Vito and the Green Gang...and the consensus was that you need to win NOW so need to put your best athletes in. Yes, there is a huge risk if your best players getting hurt on special teams...but we nobody can argue that we do need to win NOW!!!
