If we can all agree that Dunbar needs a little room to get his speed up and then becomes a terror to catch with the ball in his hands.....why have we not tried him at KR? I don't pretend to know the in's and out's of FB as to who would do well....I just thought this was a question worth asking. Enlighten me?

Risk of injury.

why not use him as a wildcat qb???? i know riley dodge is supposed to be our wildcat qb but maybe switch it up with riley and dunbar. this could be very confusing to teams.

Dunbar is not a passing threat. Put him in the wildcat and you will see 8 or possibly 9 in the box.

Lance doesn't need room to get his speed up. Dude has a great first step.

I wouldn't rule it out but our kick returners now are averaging in the 25 range so he likely wouldn't improve it that much.

As a running back he likely has only five or six players that are a real threat to tackle him. As a kickoff returner all 11 are after the return man. On the other hand, there is probably no one else on the team better at using his blockers.

I think he should stand outside the stadium, rotating his arms, and generate all the electricity used on campus. Now that would get us some attention.

In all seriousness, what GrayEagle said about the pretty decent kickoff returns thus far. And what UNT90 said about risk of injury. Ask Jim Fassel what he thinks now about having Jason Sehorn return kicks in 1998.

I love the power generation ideas. He's a running back, why not have him run on a treadmill or a man-sized hamster wheel when he's exercising and use that energy to power the GAB?

And for whoever suggested Dunbar as a kicker... I like it. He's got strong leg muscles... He could probably deliver from 40+ yards.

I just wonder why we forced Dunbar to try and pick up yardage from the press box most of last season. Good thing someone finally realized he's much more effective down on the field.

Well, that could "enlighten" us.

I've now stopped worrying about our lack of depth at corner; Dunbar: stride for stride with whoever they send deep.
