"If the WAC dies, the SBC is back on the bottom."

Tobi ignores how terrible the MAC is.. in fact, I think he ignores it all together.

The MAC was terrible but I think they have improved over the last couple of years to where they are a little bit ahead of the Sunbelt in my opinion.

And who's to say that we will never get an invite to the Big 12 or whatever they are called today. With 37,000 students and a public university we are a better bet than the small private schools. Maybe someone will see what we have to offer.

Don't really have much respect for an article where the poll choices are basically "Do the smart thing (what the author wants)" or "Make the stupid choice (what the author doesn't want)".

Obviously, the guy has done his homework. I'm not sold yet, but this is very well thought-out. It just seems like a strange approach to save everyone else's skin (the WAC, ULL, TS-SM, UTSA), thinking that this entirely new conference will make us more likely to get a C-USA or better invitation.

Seriously, the only nightmare is the fact that this Tobi guy (bastion of investigative journalism that he is) is still writing these stories. I feel like I'm in the limbo dream level. Where's my totem?

What is I-AAA?

1-AAA is composed of universities that play Division I basketball but do not play FBS or FCS football. A Division I college must have 14 or more varsity sports.

Unless we are able to make some immediate inroads into either CUSA or the MWC then what Tobi writes is food for thought.

I would like to see the formation of a "New Southwest Conference" with regional rivals. We'll just cherry pick schools from around here that most of us would love to see UNT play (like SMU,TCU,UH,UTEP,Tulsa,Baylor,TWU), and that way we can cut down on travel costs, plus build intrastate rivalries!

Thoughts?

At the same time, I wonder how many games it will take for Dodge to stay around as coach. Anyone have any thoughts on what it will take?

/sarcasm for those not sure of context...
