--A longtime liability, the Mean Green's defensive unit actually played rather well. North Texas limited Clemson QB Kyle Parker to 170 yards passing, and 70 of those came on a touchdown pass to Brandon Clear in the second quarter that staked the Tigers to a 14-0 advantage.

"We came down here not to lay down. We came down here to fight," Mean Green wide receiver Jamaal Jackson said. "That's exactly what we did."

During the game one of the announcers stated that one of the things UNT had going for them was the fact that they had both their starting QB and running back returning from last year. Good pre-game prep.

He also said it was Tune's first start of the year. Uh, yeah. It's everybody's first start of the year. I know what they mean. It's Tune's first time to win the starting job out of Fall camp.
