Not taking away from a better than expected performance, but this game could have been so much closer if we could have reduced the "shoot yourself in the foot" errors that the announcers have been harping on all game. To me, those ultimately fall on the coaching staff.

After one game, I'll say you're right as far as penalties are concerned. Still optimistic so far with the season.

5 penalties into the 4th quarter. 4 within the play of the game. not bad if you ask me for a first game.

Improve the tackling and we could make some noise this year.

Our D is atrocious. They've given up 35 points in less than 15 minutes of possession! Its our offense that is making us look like we belong on the field with the exception of not being able to score. If they haven't kept the clock running and controlling possession, we'd be in dire straits!

I'm still not optimistic for this season. I need something to give me hope!

Are we going to learn to tackle by then?

I agree that it needs to improve, but that is easier said than done when you are outsized by a fairly large margin.
