I'm glad to hear that he called him out. I just don't understand how people that have attended one college yet root for one they have no affiliation with other than they live in that state. I don't hold people that did not attend college to that standard. It would make since that you root for the Univ of _______ based on where you live, but if you attended a school somewhere else why would you do that and as far as I'm concerned you give up that right. Not everyone is college material or may like the money to attend. Once you head off to school, that should be your team.

I went to grad school at A&M, my wife got her undergrad degree there and grad at UNT, but when the two play it is UNT all the way for me and A&M for her. I even felt that way when I was at UNT and we were Division Two. I even witnessed some beatings by A&M in person back in the '90s, and it didn't deter me

I work with a guy that who is a big UT fan and so is his wife, yet both graduated from UNT. When I call him out I get "We really wanted to go to UT." I think that is the typical response now. People not going where they really wanted to and trying to latch onto the big program name.

If the Daily were to get involved, I'd fully expect an article about the SGA president limiting free speech and pushing a pro-athletics agenda. The headline will be "New petition to stop stadium construction!".

The Daily has done an excellent job on football coverage this semester.. I encourage you to visit their website sometime, I think you would like what you see..

Sounds like losers to me. I grew up in Austin, spent my childhood and high school years going to Memorial Stadium (have probably seen more UT home games than most of their alums....though I do have graduate degrees from there). I could have gotten into UT (it was much easier in those days and I had good admission test scores), but didn't want to go to a university in my home town...so I picked North Texas. I have been a tried and true Mean Green fan ever since. Sure, I'll root for Texas against most teams, but my heart is with UNT. Frankly, I find North Texas sports much more interesting than watching a semi-pro franchise with all the money in the world backing it. Where is the challenge or enjoyment in that?
