The season of drinking our green kool-ade is drawing to a close.

Why can't we find schools ranked 50-100 for our first game, albeit we know such games are our tradition and we are probably going to make a bundle for this game.

Just enjoy the game for what it is--look for some bright spots and hope that we discover we have a field goal kicker out of this game.

GMG!

PS: Our Bottom 10 ranking on other thread? We need to beat Rice to get out that poll, but this ranking will make our next 3-4 year rise from the NCAA ashes even more dramatic--just won't start this particular Saturday, that's all.

Here's how I see it going, the team is fired up and we have a real college offense show up in the first half, a valiant effort but Clemson's pure talent and halftime adjustments lead to a blowout in the second half.

End of 1st Q

Clemson- 7

UNT- 13(Missed XP)

Halftime

Clemson- 20

UNT-19(another missed XP and a missed field goal from 35 yards out with time expiring)

End of game

Clemson- 51

UNT- 22

Clemson runs away in the second half and we get a late field goal against their third team from 22 yards out(kick from the 4, that's about the range I would give our kicker, if we don't get the ball inside the 15, we will have to go for it every time)

QB

Tune- 12/27 1 TD/ 2 INT 114 yards

RB

Dunbar- 22-75, 1 TD

Hamilton/Byrd- 6-17, 1 TD

WR/TE

Stratford- 5-47

Ross- 3-28, 1 TD

Jackson- 2-20

Taylor- 2-19

Clemson 38 UNT 21

I'm sick of moral victories but I think we come out swinging and make this competitive for three quarters. Whatever, I'll be damned proud of our guys.

Them: a lot

Us: a little

One fine day we will compete in these games but we are not there yet. Regardless the team will represent the university well by never quitting and playing every down until the whistle. On a positive note I think this team has the ability to beat anyone else on the schedule and, who knows, they just might.

After reading the two deep roster for the Clemson game, we appear to be extremely thin a the DT position. I think our starters are going to be fine, but I think our backup DTs will have trouble. Runs up the middle will probably give us trouble by the 3rd quarter. If this happens, it will be disastrous for us in short yardage situations, and allow Clemson to control the clock. I think our lack of depth at the DT spot combined with our green field goal kicking, will stop us from keeping this one close. On a positive note, I believe Atterberry (punter) will make sure Clemson has to march the length of the field for all of those scores, and I think the offense will play well under Canales, and with Tune at the QB spot. 14 points in Death Valley, with a very shaky kicking game, and a serious disadvantage in the time of possession is not bad.

North Texas- 14

Clemson- 52
