That's extremely old news. It mentions Chancellor Hurley....and Dallas' bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

I'm so thankful Dallas didn't get the Olympics bid.

-1 one me all you want for my perspective but imagine the amount of debt the City of Dallas (and surrounding cities) would be faced with given the current economic climate we're in right now. Dallas and other cities in the area are currently considering tax increases and budget cuts. The short term gains wouldn't be worth the long time burden the DFW area would be faced with. No city that has hosted the Olympics has ever made a profit hosting the Olympics.

Los Angeles and Atlanta both made profits.
