Wouldn't surprise me. I guess UTEP wants to be strictly a west coast related team. That would be huge for LA Tech after all of this fiasco.

This is what I was thinking. If the WAC fails this is terrible news for us because that means there are an influx of "more desirable" teams for CUSA to pick over us. As you stated La Tech is one of them...I hope the WAC can stay together so we can go to CUSA or MWC.

Agreed. All signs at UTEP point to them being thrilled to be in a conference with several ex-SWC members. They would probably bail on C-USA if the MWC came calling, but no way they leave for the WAC.

La Tech a better pick than us? No. Maybe to message board posters, but not to university presidents. There's a reason they were passed over twice for CUSA already. If they were getting in, it would've been done this last time around instead of picking up UTEP.
