Hey guys, just wanted to stop by and see if anyone who was coming to the game had any questions about Clemson. Like places to eat, stay, hang out, etc. I'm ready for some football and look foward to meeting some Mean Green fans.

There are a few places actually. But, at must is the Esso club. Great times and drinks. There is also the Tiger Town Tavern downtown. But, there should be no problem making friends with Tiger fans and going back to their tailgate for some beer and food. I think you will be surprised at how well we treat the visiting fans (except for the Shamecocks of course).

Many thanks...what you mentioned is one of the great things about college football. I have never been mistreated (nor have I mistreated) by home team fans when I do get to attend away games. In fact, just to opposite, and I would imagine this is true in the vast majority of cases.

Thanks for the hints.

No problem. I hope you enjoy your time at Death Valley. Be sure to get there about 20 minutes early to watch the greatest 25 seconds in college football. A MUST is watching the Tigers rub the rock and run down the hill. You should have a good view of it if you are sitting in the visitors section near the west end zone.

Is Lauren Bowden still hanging around campus? If so, where would be a good spot to track her down?

UNT is also trying to reach Tier 1 status on U.S. News and World Report's college ranking system...any advice on how to improve our rating?

If I wanted to throw an Antebellum themed costume party the night before the game with my guests dressed as their favorite actors from the period, you know, George Washington Dixon, Thomas D. Rice, Daddy Jim Crow...that'd be cool, right? Or has it been done? Maybe wait until next MLK Day?

Do you have problems with those drunkards from Rocky Top buying you out of scheduled games only to be replaced by the likes of ...wait for it...Buffalo... ? Does the traditional power of Tennessee, first replace North Texas with Montana(FCS) then replace the vaunted football powerhouse UNC(lol) then replace even yourselves ((Clemson)RoTfLmAo) on their schedule? My how the mighty have fallen...

I was spit at by a Sooner Fan LEAVING the stadium after getting drilled by them on opening day a few years ago. Simply walking back to the Mean Green bus some dude spit at me and my friends. I won't go back to Norman, period.

opposite experience. Been there for our last 2 games and norhing but good things from the sooner nation. Even some expressed regret during the high school coaching staff slaughter.

You sure it was completely unprovoked?

That is a distinct possibility. Anyway, how is the year looking for y'all? How many offensive and defensive starters are coming back?

Lots of starters back on both sides of the ball. The offense will be loaded and better with the new OC (I hope), the defense has been operating as a lower tier SBC squad and there is nothing yet that tells me they will be any better this year. We needs some guys on D to become difference makers. Our special teams is a big question mark. We have a punter with a big leg but we get punts blocked too often. We have a new freshman kicker so we'll have to see about him, we don't block to well for him either. Special teams has just been bad and it has cost us dearly.

All of that being said, we will be better than last year but we need to be a ton better. We have alot of question marks heading into the season.

No joke, we could be 7-5 or 2-10.

Sorry to hear that...my wife and my experience leaving that game was 100% different. We were thanked by several different people for coming to Norman for the game, offered encouragement for the rest of the season and even offered an adult beverage or two. I have been to games in Norman many times (being an OSU grad as well as a UNT grad) and even after getting drilled by OU as a Cowboy fan wearing Cowboy (OSU) gear I was not treated badly. I'd go to a game in Norman any time and expect to have a great time and to be treated well by the Sonner Nation.

Really sorry you had that experience. From my experience that is way out of the ordinary. But, then again, jerks can be found almost anywhere and if you are unlucky enough to run into one it can ruin your game day experience I am certain.

BTW...the only time I have been spit upon is when I was wearing my Air Force uniform in public during the days of Viet Nam. My how times have changed...and very much for the better.

Well I ain't...and I want you to answer my questions.

What were you're questions?

ColaTiger42,

How many times have you heard/uttered the phrase, "At least our band was better than theirs" after a Clemson butt-kicking?

I have never uttered the phrase. To be honest, our band isn't very big or loud. More often than not, I leave at half time to go have a few and then come in a few minutes into the second half and don't even watch the band.

Important questions.

Is our band going to travel to Clemson? I think you might like what you hear if you can muster the courage to stay in the stadium when down 35 - (-7) at half.

Our band is the best you'll ever hear.
