Do all teams go to the tourney this year?

Are we attending the tourney this year. I know that the last pace teams are going to be left out starting soon. I just want to know if it is this year or next. In other words do we have ANY chance of adding one more win to the W/L column?

Beginning next season, in both the men's and women's bracket, eight teams will go, including the top two from each division and the four with the next best records, regardless of division.

I can see some upside to it, but it makes travel plans more difficult (and, likely, more expensive) for those who want to go if you may not know until the week before if your team will be in.

Plus, with the current uneven divisions, you could have a team that doesn't make it because they played one less (or more) game than a team in the other division, losing out by percentage points when they didn't have an opportunity to play the extra game.

Also, some schools might be less willing to bid for the tournament, as there is no guarantee the host will even be playing.

Overall, from a fan's perspective, I see less good than bad with the change.
