Commish: Time For The Sun Belt To Play In A Bcs Bowl

At LEAST 2 high profile wins, plus beating everyone else on their schedule by 30+ points might give someone a chance, but fat chance in the near future IMO. I guess an incredible Heisman type athlete who tears it up against everyone would help the uphill cause. I mean, if we went 12-0 this year, and Dunbar ran for 2000+ yards, does anyone really think we would get a BCS Bowl? At least it's something to think about.

i agree. i'm thinking the schedule strength drain that the sunbelt conference games would create is too much to overcome mathmatically. i'd love to be wrong.

FCS opponent

Navy

@ Bad Big 10 Indiana

@ FBS transition WKU

8 MAC games

Had Ball State in the magic BCS 12 or better range before they lost to Buffalo in the MAC title game.

Problem for Sun Belt is unlike Hawaii and Boise we don't schedule realistically

Hawaii

2 FBS

@ 1 bad MWC UNLV

1 bad Pac-10 Washington (second loss of 15 game losing streak)

8 WAC

Boise (first time)

1 FBS

Good Pac-10 Oregon State

@ mediocre MWC Wyoming

@ 3rd in MWC Utah

8 WAC

Boise (second time)

Pac-10 champ

12th best MAC Miami (OH)

@ Bowling Green

FBS

8 WAC

No one in the league schedules like that. MTSU's schedule this year is the closest.

On the Hawaii and Boise examples, didn't you mean "FCS" instead of "FBS?"
