Here’s the article. Not much info.

Let's go totally gangsta, and make a statement with this hire. Let's send notice that North Texas will not tolerate losing to the likes of UTSA. I think we could get this guy as our next DC..............
Jess Loepp

He is currently in his 3rd season as the Runners Defensive Coordinator. And, UTSA doesn't have enough money to stop us from taking him.
Just seeing this!! Fantastic....but...why the wait??
We could tell this was a disaster long before now. Now the season has already been ruined and any interim can't make much impact on changes they might want to make.
Regardless.......Great news......just 11 months too LATE!
Two years ago we went toe-to-toe with Boise State in a bowl game. Fast forward to today and Boise State has the inside track to being in the CFP and we’re trending to a #100 ranking. We have Jared Moseley and Eric Morris to thank for that. What a disaster for UNT.
I agree with the reason why most of our alumni don’t care. However I don’t agree with why our administration doesn’t care. I think they want to win on the cheap and not rock the boat with Old Denton. If they wanted to win they would publicly pursued and likely hired one of the high profile younger coaches that made a stop in one of our old conferences or FCS. Lane Kiffin, Larry Coker, Major Applewhite, Dat Nguyen (as a DC), Kevin Sumlin, Doug Williams, Howard Schnellenberger, Briles, Gary Patterson, June Jones, Deion Sanders or etc. Now if Zach Orr becomes a FBS head coach without going directly to a program that has not won multiple P5/P4 conferences title or New Years 6 bowls since 1980 without his agent getting a call from UNT it won’t be a surprise. The only coach hire I was ever slightly excited for was Dan McCarney. I have followed this team as a knowledgeable CFB fan for 25 years.
