That is the best part. Nolan Ryan needs to be a part of this thing going forward, I am scared that with out his influence on the team it will revert back tot he ways of the past decade and that is unacceptable. Nolan Ryan is the one piece of this puzzle that NEEDS to be there..... I wouldn't mind having Cuban along for the ride, and if the worst happens and Nolan is not going to be involved I think that Cuban is the guy that I think that can keep the boat steering in the right direction...

Am I the only one who thinks MLB would stop any purchase of the Rangers by Cuban? Not sure the "old boys" network of owners would put up with the likes of Cuban. Hasn't he been "shut out" of previous attempts to by the Cubs? I just get the feeling that MLB would like to NOT have Mark Cuban as an owner. Maybe some closer to MLB could discuss...Green Guy Bass perhaps.

As much as Nolan Ryan has done for the pitching, I think Clint Hurdle has done for the hitting. The Rangers no longer live by the idiotic Jaramillo style of swinging for the fences on every pitch. The team actively tries for singles, doubles, and bunts now and it's a big part of why they're in first place.

I agree with this. I was not thrilled to see Rudy go because the players liked him so much, but when I heard that we were bringing in Hurdle, I was fine with Rudy leaving. Hurdle is an elite hitting coach. I'm so glad he's here.

I also think equal credit needs to be given to Chris Burke from Life Goes On for the masterful job he's done teaching them his "grab your genitals and run like they are on fire" approach to baserunning.
