This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment. . . .

You [the fans] simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal. . . .

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank. . . .

Open Letter to Fans from Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert

Also, from another source:

Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert says LeBron James "quit" during the playoffs and should be accountable for his actions.

He likes ellipses and misplaced/inappropriate quotation marks.

Interesting.

The ellipses are mine, as I included highlights.

But I thought the same thing about the quotation marks. It seems we have a poster who is doing a little moonlighting.

I can't say I blame the Cavs fan or organization for being bitter. It does suck that he didn't feel the connection to his hometown team, but the self promoting, narcissistic arrogance and his own hour long self centered show was over the top. It also cheapens any sport when the "stars" decide that they will play together no matter what. I hope they fail miserably and I look forward to the bickering when each of them don't get the ball enough.

Makes you wonder if Cleveland thought they were the chosen team, only to learn that they weren't at the last second.

Now you can look forward to the Heat getting every phantom call while the NBE cashes in on the sales of Lebron, Wade, Bosh jerseys.

I hate to break it to you Cleveland, but Miami is now the daring team of the NBE. They will win multiple championships before you sniff the playoffs again. The league office will make it happen.

2006 anyone?

If our possible moonlighter starts posting in comic sans, we'll finally have an answer.

It was a solid open letter, however, I wish that it had opened with "To Nancy...What a surprise it was seeing you today"

To Delonte,

What a surprise it was running into you today...and in such an unusual place...my mother's drawers...
