The next Denton Alumni Chapter Mixer is set for Thursday, July 8th at Fox and Hounds in Lewisville. The event starts at 6pm and runs until..........

It's a great time to mix and mingle with other members of the Mean Green nation and to get your UNT "fix". Alumni Chapter officers and board members will be there to answer your questions as will members of the Alumni staff. Hopefully, a special guest or two will be able to make it as well.

Hope to see you there. Come relax after work and enjoy the company of the Mean Green Nation.

Update...we will have Rick V as a special guest at the Mixer. he should arrive between 6:30 and 7PM, so that is great. You'll have a chance to talk with RV about the stadium or anything else you would like to speak with him about. He has always been great to chat with and is always available to the Mean green nation. Come on out...whether you are an Alumni member or not...and enjoy the company of your fellow Mean green nation members. heck, if you aren't a member you might discover that it would be a good thing to join. All members, friends of UNT and family are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Another bump -- I know there are some alumni on the board who are in the DC area. Does anyone know if there are any alumni mixers planned for the DC area?

As a Denton group we took it upon ourselves to start having these mixers on a regular basis. My thought would be for you to get in touch with Rob McKinney at the Alumni Association office on campus and discuss how many DC area alums there may be and how to go about setting up a mixer. If you would like to contact me, I can talk with you about how we have done it and how the Alumni Assoc. can help.

Just send me a PM with your contact info and I'd be more than happy to help.

GO ALUMNI...GO MEAN GREEN!

KRAM (or others)....can you give me an idea of how far down on I-35E this place is? A general idea....and maybe what exit to take. (I'm coming from Denton).

Take the corporate drive exit. it is literally right on the northbound access road of I-35, about 200 yards north of the corporate drive overpass.

There is a huge neopn sign, can't miss it.

Looks like the mixer is going to be fun like always! It's always nice to get every together for these things. Wish I could make it but I am going to be in San jose for work. I'm looking forward to hearing what RV has to say.

Can't wait for July 8th. Do you think the Denton Alumni Chapter will have any of their fund raising items for preview?

We should have at least one of the items we are planning to sell this season available for the Mixer. Hope to see you there on the 8th!

Just a little bump to keep this event "top of mind". Don't let the rain or the possibility of rain keep you away this evening. It's a good spot to stop off, get dry and visit with other Mean green nation members. And, to ask RV a question or two about the stadium and/or the upcoming season.

Hope to see some of our GMG.com posters in attendance this evening.

GO MEAN GREEN...GO ALUMNI...GO MEAN GREEN CLUB!

RV in fact did brave the rain as promised and was with us for the event. He made some comments about how well the stadium project was going and invited everyone out to look for themselves and see what's going on at UNT facilities-wise. Talked about the teams UNT has that are now ranked in the top within the nation and getting better. He encouraged everyone to help by buying season tickets, making their Mean Green Club donations, joining the Alumni Assoc., etc. He also discussed the new Alumni Pavilion that will be part of the new stadium complex.

The best part was the ability to just have a one-on-one with him before and/or after he spoke. I had the opportunity to do so, and was very happy with the response he gave to my questions. I always find RV to be very open approachable. That's a lot more than many people can say about their school's AD.
