If anyone wants to see my dad rocking a Mean Green shirt

why would he be throwing rocks at a Mean Green shirt? Or is he rioting in a Mean Green shirt by throwing rocks at gerrymandering Latinos. Are the Rangers still in the Wac? What f'n thread is this, I've been highjacked by a NT billboard on 35 while handing out posters to area businesses after peeing at The Wall in fouts restroom. Also, helmet stickers or script? MF'ers

And to think that all this was started by my really very harmless comment about Greece and entitlements. Sigh! Amazing what gets folks excited in the off-season, isn't it?

I'll be in Athens in September, maybe we can set up a UNT tailgate at the Acropolis.

All that matters is you stood up for yourself using logic and reason and came away from this representing the think tank well. +1.

i would suggest you read a few of the european papers daily for about six months to get a good idea what is going on.

Why should we be reading newspapers put out by those you describe as "a bit lazy and so said the same with tourists from other European countries"?

All of Europe has the welfare state mentality. Greece has it the worse. Pick up a paper or look on various web sites & notice the "riots" in Greece. Why are they rioting? They want more entitlement money for retirement, they want to work less for more pay & now the country can not sustain the financial burden. Greek credit is basically .... junk. Portugal, Spain & Italy are in the same boat but not as bad. Their current birth rates are not sustaining growth to achieve more or the same entitlements. The only groups that are having positive rates of growth that are double to triple the countries growths are the Muslims. Not too far behind these European countries is the United States.

As far as the original topic I am surprised this has not headed to court. But since all measures are political and for the most part the American people are left out of the loop does this surprise anyone? IMHO, political equality via the ballot box is of little use when you compare it to social/economic inequality. Case in point the '64 Civil Rights Act.

Really, as far as YOUR original topic, what does the 1964 Civil Rights Act have to do with it? So, what's your point here, that unless you were white back then you should have been satisfied with having to exit the Interstate Highway and drive to the nearest Black neighborhood in order to eat or go to the restroom? But, maybe it was money that got that legislation passed. If the southern states had felt so strongly about their "rights" to MANDATE segregation by state laws, they could have just refused to receive such things as federal highway funds.

eulessismore, depends if you believe that "equality" is "inequality"....or.... if inequality is equality. 46 years into the Civil Rights Act I believe the injustices of the past have been righted and the bloated federal bureaucracy that it created should be dismantled. Will there always be racism? of course and no government can regulate this in the United States or elsewhere around the world.

Please elaborate -- both on what's been righted and how it should be dismantled.

education, jobs, housing & general opportunities.....have been righted.

quotas or qualifications.....depends what you want.

abolish the civil rights act. IMHO, this will never happen.

I'd exhaust my keyboard's capability to type the letters "h" and "a" if I responded properly to this.

There's a roundtable I just heard on the radio that would love to tackle this response with you.

Equal opportunity does not mean equal results. Some things you just have to do on your own.

Perhaps you can respectfully elablorate by keeping away from the intangibles (i.e., i.q. , credit bureau, etc.). if you can.
