There is nothing in the ESPN site about this. A reply on the above link says it was a Tampa radio host's opinion that it could happen.

Still, some CUSA shakeup would help our situation. If Memphis and UCF did leave, and perhaps ECU, plus a Houston to Big12?, that would be good for some major shakeup over there. No Baylor for them to invite now.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Local 6 Sports Director David Pingalore is reporting that multiple college football sources have said that the University of Central Florida and Memphis could be invited to join the Big East conference as soon as next week.

This can only be that big money of the Fedex guy talking, or Eastern Carolina would be invited instead of Memphis. Calipari has already taken the basketball mojo to Kentucky with him, Eastern Carolina has actually been serious about playing football, and is within the footprint of the Big East.

Looking at the current CUSA member map it would help us if ECU were to go also, and Marshall back to the MAC :) ... cusa_map.gif

Looking at the current Big East member map Memphis and UCF would both fit, as would ECU (and half of CUSA)... big_east_map.gif

May God bless us with the event that all this conference realignment BS just stop! That would be right up there with World Peace!
