Conference realignment to get political in Texas this week

Branch said the chief executives of Texas (Bill Powers), Texas A&M (R. Bowen Loftin) and Texas Tech (Guy Bailey) already have accepted their invitations to testify before the committee. Branch also hopes to have representatives from Baylor, Rice, Southern Methodist, TCU, Houston, North Texas and UTEP. Branch also has invited several economists as well as the commissioners of the Pac-10, SEC, Big 12, Mountain West and Conference USA.

According to Chip Brown a few minutes ago, Texas has been convinced to stay in a 10 member Big 12 by Dan Beebe, as the option of exploring their own network, and possibility of increased TV revenue for all teams has been all but guaranteed.

Ball is now in aTm's court. Should get interesting.

So who would represent NT? Lee frickin Jackson??

A few months ago my choice woul've been Dan Smith. I don't understand his stance on the Gretchen Bataille resignation but he has always had North Texas' best interest at heart.

If Lee Jackson goes we'll end up in the FCS.

Of course it would be Mr. Jackson. He was hired specifically for such moments as these. His vast influence with the legislature will make all the difference in the world.

Time to step up to the plate, Dallas Jackson. It's your time.

He'd probably do the manly thing and send Royce West.
