Re: LA-Tech, you guys staying or going?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If Tech gets an offer from C-USA, we are gone.

If not, Tech will do whatever it takes to not join the Sun Belt. If Benson can get North Texas from the Sun Belt and Hawaii, Nevada, and Fresno are still in the WAC, Tech will stay in the WAC. But Benson hasn't mentioned UNT once. If Benson goes after FCS teams and loses any of Fresno or Nevada, Tech will have seriously consider holding its nose and applying for the Belch.

Why would NT be tempted by a seriously watered down Wacy group? If you can get enough Central time zone FBS teams to make an Eastern Division, then maybe. But without Boise, the Sunbelt gets is higher ranked and gets more BCS money.

I believe an Eastern division would be the plan. Enough schools to provide for the long-term health and sustainability of the conference in case a loss occured again.

The MWC also made the statement there would be no further expansion from them west (meaning no further loss of Fresno, Nevada, Hawaii, etc. from the WAC.) The MWC would expand east if and when it does so.

The WAC likewise must expand east as that is where the available FBS teams are. Otherwise only FCS moveups are out west and there is still a moritorium on no moveups.

What if the WAC extended invites to UNT, Tulsa, Arkansas State, and Baylor?

Why would Tulsa leave C-USA for a lesser conference & 1 with fewer opponents in the same time zone ?
