Not long ago, a MG fan said he works in RE in Dallas and had worked with the Big 12 and the commissioner said they were interested in UNT....most of us said BS. Anyway, so where is he now? Seems like the Big 12 would really have an interest now...what ever remains of the Big12.

That would be a best case scenario for North Texas. We can only hope UNT would be part of a rebuilt Big 12, but we have never had that kind of luck. If Kansas, Kansas St., Iowa St., Baylor, and probably Missouri want to pick up the pieces and rebuild it with UNT, I'm all for it. Add Houston too.

It was me but I never said I had ties to the big 12 commissioner. But I don't think that a year or a year 1/2 ago whenever I heard about it last that things were the same. Then I was told that Colorado or Missouri might leave the north and that they were trying to bring all the auto-bid conferences up to at least 12 teams to have a conference championship and perhaps a playoff. I was last told that the Big 12 North wanted a bigger presence in Texas for Recruiting and maybe market share and they were interested in UNT. I was never told of a fear that the south would stage a mass exodus. Looks like the Big 12 will die and I don't think that back then they were anticipating this development. But I told people what I heard from some people that should know at the time.
