Colorado Should Join Mountain West Not Pac 10

If you're constantly chasing the Longhorns' tail, the view never changes. And it stinks.

That column makes so much sense it's scary. CU in the PAC 16 makes zero geographical sense for them (not that the Big XII is anything to write home about). CU in the MWC, much better.

Makes sense but not $en$e. As the writer mentions CU is money short having to raise tuition 9%. CU decision makers won't pass on an invite to join a mega $ BCS SuperConference and instead drop to a non-BCS conference (MWC), even if it may someday become one. Top conference expansion decisons these days are based on $$.

May be a moot point if Baylor becomes the 6th Big XII invitee instead of CU.

Exactly. Suffice it to say that CU would leave millions on the table every year if they followed this idiot.

Colorado is not going to be in the center of any conference. They will be able to afford annual trips to Texas and Colorado a little better now.

I think that article is asinine.

The Texas schools are the devil because they would consider an offer from the Pac 10. Is not Colorado doing the same thing? Why the holier-than-thou attitude about it?

And while Colorado to the MWC makes perfect geographic sense, it lumps them in with the other Colorado schools. The Big XII marked them a cut above Colorado State and Air Force, as would the Pac 10. And really the geography of Colorado in the Pac 10 is not that bad. Sure, it's a long way to Seattle, and sure, it's a long way to College Station. But Colorado is more in the middle of that than any other school that would be in the new Pac 10 (16). It would be much more central to that conference than it had ever been in the Big 8 or Big XII, even though some of the trips will be longer.

Because Coloradoans have a natural, inherent hatred for Texans or anything to do with Texas.
