I do think this has the marks of JT looking out for himself first and San Antonio second. He wants to compete at the top level which I get. He’s a football 🏈 coach But smart move for UTSA across the board? Iffy.
Again San Antonio will have interesting decisions to make. Elevate Texas State at your discretion. give the Bobcats natural rivals, trips to West Point Colorado Springs Annapolis Boca Raton Tampa Charlotte Philly Dallas and Houston at your own comfort level. Meanwhile you will be in Corvallis Fresno San Diego Fort Collins New Orleans and Memphis. Nice locations but Texas State is going to be able to build and UNT will continue to excel.
beat Wyoming!
GMG
Their "front porch" is underfunded, on the way down, and has crap facilities. Couple all of this with the fact that they can't afford the exit fee from the AAC and they aren't going anywhere. Sorry, I just don't see the attraction to the MWC Part II
Are WA St., OR St. and their new buddies really that attractive to us and to media outlets? I don't get the attraction to moving out west with those teams. If UTSA goes, they go. Their facilities are crap, their programs outside of football are crap and football is trending down. Sometimes when the grass appears greener you just need to water your own damn lawn.
The new AAC Commish is going around visiting with all the league school’s individually. Not a sign of anything, just a cheerleading session for the conference admins. Rah!
