Regents at the University of North Texas unanimously approved the following actions at Thursday’s meeting:

• The Denton location officially is recognized as the flagship campus of the UNT system.

• Athletic director Rick Villarreal’s contract was extended through 2015. Villarreal’s base salary during the term of the agreement is “$500,000 or more,” according to materials given to board members.

• HKS Inc. will upgrade the large air-conditioning unit that serves the Eagle Point area, for the stadium and possible use for future student housing. The upgrade is valued at $561,000 and will be funded through remaining housing revenue bonds.
