You'd probably have to ask companies that do bracket challenges that. The NCAA doesn't formally consider the current opening game a "play-in" game.

i just hope that the ncaa chooses the last 8 seeds that would make it into the tourney by an at large bid and have them play each other to determine the "true" last 4 in. then slide them into the 12-14 seeds and let them play the respective seedings. DON'T make it four play in games to get the "honor" of playing the four number one seeds. that would be a disgrace and a totally worthless addition of three teams.
