The people of Puerto Rico do not want PR to become a state. IF, they did want to be a state, shouldn't WE be the ones voting on it and not them...?

I don't think the rest of the country voted on statehood for any other state.

Interesting read......just vote in a welfare state.

All the Puerto Ricans I've known (mostly in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division, but now I work next to a Lieutenant from Fire Rescue-he also served in the 82nd) have been hard working people. By the way, Puerto Ricans are already American Citizens. You have some reason for starting this thread, other than attempting to perpetuate some really tired cliches?

Puerto Rico is breathtaking. I highly doubt they will vote to be a state though. Doesn't this happen every few years and always get shot down? Boricuas are very proud people.

A beautiful U.S. Territory with so much to see and do, and no taxes whatsoever... It is the best place I've ever vacationed.

I was basing my reply on your original post (in bold above), because I can't afford the time go out and read the Internet articles you link to. Consider this possibility, absent any analysis that's been posted; you have your opinions and I have mine.
