If we "improve" at the rate that is consistent up to this point (see last year's close calls) who can we expect to at least hold our own against next year with out of conference play?

Clemson- its probably not gonna happen but already on ESPN in the conversation section of the game...the Clemson fans are talking crap about how disgraceful it is that their team is playing us when they used to open against Texas. Let em have it.

Rice- I would put money on us squashing the crap outta them. There team last year was absolutely smashed across the boards with minor exceptions.

Army- If last year's team comes out...it will be tough in their house but I think we can when by +3

K State- Beaten by ULL and we all remember our nail bitter and should coulda woulda game with them last year. Just saying....depends on how the season turns out we have a realistic chance of beating them with what could be a full Fouts house.

I think Rice and ARMY should be wins assuming that we continue improving the way it feels like we have this spring. In fact my brother is deployed Spec. Ops. in the ARMY and he rarely has a chance to call home but the last time we spoke we made a bet on the ARMY UNT game. Let me put it this way, UNT better win that game.

NT can say the same thing. Look at how many times the football team has opened with the defending National Champion, not some also-ran ACC team.

No way we beat clemson...

no way we beat KSU.

Not going to happen.

But what about Army or Rice.

I say if we beat both of these teams, we should have a winning record in the Belt.

Should we beat Clemson then there better be a -0 in the loss column at the end of year.

Man, I am so very good at predictions...just check my record! laugh.gif But, i do believe Army and Rice are win-able games for the Mean green and I'll place them in the "win" column right now. I am, however, glad that at this time we are considering only the Rice and Army games for predictions.

You people may want to stop putting Rice in the sure win column. If our D had problems with Dunbar this spring, wait until they see what Rice is bringing at RB.

Rice was the youngest team in all of FBS last year. At the end of the year they started to play pretty well. They won 2 out of their last 3 games , 1 being vs UTEP

I say Rice is a must win game for TD. If we start out poorly vs Clemson then lose our home opener to a in state rival that was 2 - 10 last year our fans will be pretty pissed.

It should be a close , high scoring game vs the Owls. If we win it could be the start of something special , but If we get blown out TD has to go before we start conference.
